Castle Subaru McHenry Partners with Home of the Sparrow to “Stuff the Subaru”
Castle Subaru McHenry partnered with Home of the Sparrow to host Stuff the Subaru from July 22 through July 26, 2025. The donation drive invited residents from McHenry and nearby communities to contribute clothing, household necessities, and hygiene products for women, children, families, and individuals facing homelessness or housing instability.
Community members could bring donations to the dealership or purchase requested items through an Amazon wish list. Every contribution helped Home of the Sparrow continue providing practical support to people working toward safer and more stable housing.

Castle Subaru McHenry’s Involvement
Castle Subaru McHenry organized the donation drive to give local residents a simple way to support Home of the Sparrow. Donations collected during the event included clothing, household items, and personal care products that could be put to use by people in need.
Supporters who could not visit the dealership were able to donate through the event’s Amazon wish list. This gave more people a chance to participate and helped extend the drive beyond the dealership.
Castle Subaru McHenry also provided a $10 Subaru service coupon with each eligible donation as a thank-you to the people who supported the cause.
A Community Event at Castle Subaru McHenry
The final day of Stuff the Subaru included a live remote hosted by Hannah B. from Free Country Chicago. Visitors could enjoy live music and giveaways while continuing to add donations to the collection.
The live broadcast helped bring more attention to Home of the Sparrow and gave local residents another opportunity to learn about the organization’s work across Northern Illinois.

Home of the Sparrow is a nonprofit organization serving women, children, families, and individuals who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of losing stable housing. Since 1987, the organization has provided transitional shelter, affordable housing, rapid re-housing programs, and other support services across Northern Illinois.
